Gears of War 3 Breakdown: The Weapons

Expanding upon the idea of talking about weapons in video games the breakdown series talks about all the new items you can see in a game. Not only does it discuss weapons, but it also discusses the characters and more. The idea is to breakdown the different areas of the game that people want to know about including people, places, and things.

Fill in Host of The Daily Fix

Now that I’m at IGN I’ve had the opportunity to do a lot of things. One of which was getting the opportunity to host The Daily Fix, IGN.com’s daily news show. This episode has been viewed over 170,000 times making it one of the most viewed episodes of all time.

Runes of Magic – This is YOUR World

While at Frogster America I was asked to produce a trailer for Runes of Magic, with the tagline “This is YOUR World.” Most of the footage you see in here was captured by myself or from a trailer and all the the effects were done in After Effects.

Demo Reel – 2011

To summarize much of what I had worked on in the last year I put together this demo reel of content I was involved in producing. This video was produced around April of 2011.

Freelance work.

In 2010 I began freelancing at Destructoid.com. I was originally only going to review PC titles, but it quickly expanded to encompass consoles, and handhelds. I’ve enjoyed writing at Destructoid, where I can present my reviews in a fun, yet informative manner.

I’ve noticed a trend with the Playstation Network. Sony brings a lot of special titles to it. PixelJunk Eden, Flow, and Flower are all examples of great pieces of software I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Swords and Soldiers isn’t a Playstation Network original, having come to WiiWare first, but it’s still something special, clever, and cute that you can now experience if you own a PS3. You can even experience it in 3D!

The Armory: 2008 – 2011

This is a series that I make for IGN.com, which is a division of Fox Media.  The series has now been going for over 90 episodes.  It’s one of the most popular shows on their website and I’m very proud to have created it.  I capture the footage for it, edit it, and voice it. Yep, everything you see is done by me except the intros and outros. Below is an example embedded using their player.

Hard News: 2008 – 2011

Hard News is a video game news show that can be seen Monday through Friday on ScrewAttack.com.  It launched in May of 2008 and quickly became one of the most watched features on the website, averaging 150,000 views a week from YouTube and ScrewAttack combined.  This show started out as “The Daily DL” before being noticed by ScrewAttack who had planned on launching a news show of their own.  I took those skills to ScrewAttack, and together, we gave birth to Hard News.

VGV Gametrailers: 2008 – Current

I’m not responsible for editing every Video Game Vault on Gametrailers.com, but I have done my fair share.  This is another piece of content created by ScrewAttack.com for Gametrailers.com, which is a division of MTV Networks.  The episode below was written and edited by myself, and the voice over work was done by Craig Skistimas of ScrewAttack.  These are always fun to edit, and fun to watch too.  This particular episode has been viewed over 250,000 times.

We Luv Halo 3 Contest Winner

One of the first pieces of content that was noticed by anyone was my We Luv Halo 3 contest entry to Gametrailers.com. I was a big fan of Halo 3 at the time and excited to make something unique for my contest submission. Below you can see the video I entered with that took first place in the contest. With the winnings (a best buy gift card valued at $750) I purchased a camera of my own and a digital camera to create more videos. This contest gave me the tools I needed to continue creating and begin my career as a producer.

Animation II Final – 2007

This is my animation 2 final from college. For our animation we had to have some kind of an environment which I threw together kind of quick because I was working on the animation so much. He had to walk, run, pick something up, and change his facial expression. I actually had a lot of fun doing this.
